The Co-operative Bank prepares for a FunFest

August 09, 2011

Staff from The Co-operative Bank are organising a FunFest in aid of The Co-operative’s Charity of the Year, Mencap.

The FunFest will be held at the Red House Farm, Dunham Massey, Altrincham on 11th September and will be packed with fun activities for the whole family including a giant maize maze, the biggest bouncy castle in the North West, a rock climbing wall, live music and stalls offering handmade crafts and locally sourced food.

Mencap’s Regional Fundraising Manager, Carole Headley, said: “We are all looking forward to the FunFest, it will be a really good family day. Mencap really appreciates the Co-operative’s fundraising efforts to help support the work we do for young people with a learning disability, their families and carers.”

Money raised through the Charity of the Year partnership will allow Mencap to launch a ground breaking programme called Inspire Me which will work with thousands of young people aged 16 – 25 with a learning disability, their parents and carers, and local communities to overcome the exclusion and prejudice that many face in their lives. The project will do this by providing activities and training, together with volunteering and employment opportunities.
