A new experience for North Ferriby shoppers as relocated new Co-operative Food store opens
The Co-operative Food will offer North Ferriby residents a new shopping experience, with the opening of its relocated convenience store next week.
The new 3,000sqft store, located at the site of the former Duke of Cumberland pub, is twice as large as the former store and will offer delicious food conveniently, providing a great place to pick up everything shoppers need to create inspirational meals at home.
With a focus on meal ideas, essentials and healthy, fresh foods, the state-of-the-art store will make it easy and enjoyable for shoppers to pick up all the ingredients necessary to produce fantastic food with ideas and tips on every aisle.
There will be an in-store bakery and extended ranges of fresh produce, ready meals and pizzas. Staff at the store, who have all moved across from the former site, are also receiving additional training to enable them to provide expert advice and to help inspire customers with meal ideas.
To celebrate the opening of the new store, on Thursday 5 December, children from North Ferriby Primary School will cut the official opening ribbon. The school will receive £200 to thank them for their help on the day. In addition, The Co-operative Food is donating free fruit to children from the school, as well as goody bags, with special offers, for local residents.
Helen Palmer, Store Manager, said: “I’m excited about welcoming customers into the new North Ferriby store, as local residents are passionate about food, and the new shopping experience has been tailored to really take this into account and provide our customers with everything they need to create inspirational and tasty meals. My dedicated and knowledgeable store team will be on hand to help them and make recommendations so it is easy for them to pick up delicious food conveniently.
“As a co-operative, our staff and members play an active role in the areas in which we trade, and the new store will embrace North Ferriby’s fantastic community spirit. Customers will be able to find out what is going on locally, list their own events on a new calendar board and find out more about how The Co-operative’s Community Fund can benefit local groups.”
