Co-operative's £680,000 investment in Farnborough hits the right note
A fanfare from Farnborough Concert Band officially launched the town’s new £680,000 Co-operative Food store on Thursday 18 July. Pupils from St Mark’s C of E Primary School also took on star status as they performed the ribbon cutting ceremony with store manager, Sherriff Nyabally.
The store has relocated from smaller premises on Queens Road to the more modern site on the same street. All 23 members of staff from the old store have transferred across to the new site and the move has also created six new jobs for the area.
The store has been designed around an appreciation of good food, wine and modern cuisine. Alongside an increased range of products from The Co-operative’s popular Truly Irresistible line, there is a focus on fresh and chilled produce. Shoppers can also enjoy selecting a bottle of wine, from the improved range of fine wines, to accompany their meals.
Sherriff Nyabally, Manager of The Co-operative Food store said: “Farnborough residents are passionate about their food and our new-look Co-operative Food store certainly reflects this. The store is packed with modern and interesting meal ideas that, while quick, easy and great value, are sure to impress.
“We were delighted that our local primary school and community band could join us on our special day – they certainly helped us to get things off on the right note.”
The store is open seven days a week from 7am until 10pm. For added customer convenience, the store also has a Co-operative Bank cash machine.
