The Co-operative Opens New Store in Hillsborough

The Co-operative Food is to open a new convenience store in Hillsborough, after agreeing a deal to acquire the Mace store on Lisburn Road.

It has bought the store, for an undisclosed sum, and all existing staff will transfer to The Co-operative Group. The store will begin trading as The Co-operative Food from Tuesday, 18 November,

The new store will offer shoppers a wide selection of fresh and chilled products, The Co-operative’s premium Truly Irresistible range, delicious ready meals, in-store bakery and an extensive wine range.

Ian Mason, Acquisitions Manager for The Co-operative Food in, said:

“We have been keen to add to the stores we already have in Northern Ireland, and these premises are in an ideal location.

“The Co-operative is proud of its record of operating at the heart of local communities across Northern Ireland, and we’re looking forward to serving the people of Hillsborough from our new store.”

Hillsborough will become the 32nd Co-operative Food store in Northern Ireland.
