Britannia backing for Leek show’s special year
Britannia, part of The Co-operative Bank, is delighted to confirm its support for the Leek and District Show, 2012, helping the Moorland’s family-friendly annual attraction to celebrate its 50th year in style.
Britannia will this year be joined at the show by colleagues hosting activities and exhibits from The Co-operative’s Food, Pharmacy, Funeralcare and Travel businesses.
Adjacent to the showground, the member-owned financial services provider will also make its Britannia House car park available to show goers.
Car parking at Britannia’s Leek office will this year be managed by volunteers from the 4th Leek Scout Group who hope driver donations will help them to carry out much needed improvements to their Pump Street Scout Hut.
Aileen Walters, The Co-operative Banking Group’s Sponsorship Manager, said: “We are delighted to support the Leek and District Show and to be its principal sponsor in what promises to be a very special anniversary year for the annual show. Over the years it has firmly established itself as a highlight of the community calendar.
“The North Staffordshire and Staffordshire Moorlands are important areas for the whole of The Co-operative Group. It is an area in which we have thousands of members, customers and colleagues and, through our programme of community activities, we are committed to making a difference locally.”
The Britannia Leek and District Show takes place at Birchall Playing Fields, Leek, on Saturday, 28 July, 2012.
