Peter Marks joins colleagues in 150ft abseil through the new head office

October 10, 2011

Last Friday (7 October), 23 colleagues, including our Group Chief Executive Peter Marks, raised £8,000 for our Charity of the Year by abseiling 150ft through the atrium of our new head office in Manchester.

The abseilers from the Group were joined by members of the head office construction, design and project management teams while the whole event was overseen by Rossendale & Pendle Mountain Rescue.

The drop, from the very centre of the 10th floor, gave the participants a dramatic and outstanding view of the inside of the new building, due to be completed in 12 months time.

Deputy Group Chief Executive Martyn Wates and Acting Chief Executive of the Banking Group, Barry Tootell, joined colleagues from the Estates function, led by Managing Director Martyn Hulme to make the descent.

Next week we will be posting a short video of the event by in the meantime you can enjoy the photos below.
