Six of the best qualifications for The Co-operative Estates
A team of six energy managers from The Co-operative Estates are the first in the UK to achieve Advanced Energy Management status, joining an elite group of 100 energy professionals in Europe that have been awarded this qualification from the Energy Institute.
Advanced Energy Manager status recognises a manager’s ability to manage energy whilst improving energy efficiency and reducing energy costs and consumption.
Research carried out by Lord Redesdale, CEO of the Energy Managers Association, revealed that 95 per cent of Energy Managers have no formal qualification in this area, and The Co-operative Estates team wanted to remedy this.
“Whilst the energy team has performed consistently well for The Co-operative Group, we feel it is important to gain an industry leading qualification in order to further build upon that success,” said Paul Ratcliffe, The Co-operative Estates’ regional energy manager for the North West and North Midlands.
“We are leading the way in this field: we are the first organisation to establish a bespoke, tailored course with the Energy Institute, and the first to pass in the UK. Two of us achieved the highest scores the pan-European Institute has ever seen.”
