Great resources for secondary students and new graphic novel!

05/07/2013 by Green Schools

All our secondary teachers were recently sent a copy of our engaging new graphic novel to help celebrate Co-operatives Fortnight in school.

The Co-operative Revolution: A Graphic Novel vividly showcases the past, present and future of a radical movement that has grown to become the most successful grassroots campaign the world has ever seen. Everyone can read a copy for free online here.

To help celebrate co-operatives more widely we have developed some great resources suitable for pupils aged 11-16 and 16-19. They will learn why a co-operative is different and how they all share the same guiding values and principles.

Don’t worry if you don’t know that much about how co-operatives operate as we have provided extensive teacher notes to guide you.

Here’s what’s available:

  • Teacher notes – why learn about co-operatives?
  • What is a Co-operative?
  • Useful weblinks to bring your lessons to life
  • An activity to help pupils plan and run their own co-operative
  • Useful glossary to help you on your way

These resources are great for PSHEE, Citizenship, Enterprise and Business Studies and especially useful if you’re looking for something a bit different to engage your students towards the end of term. Perhaps you can raise some funds for your school at the same time?

Don't miss out on these resources!

Download a sample resource from our secondary teaching resources page and login/register to access the secondary teacher resources area for the full range of classroom resources.
