We hit a very exciting green milestone this week – welcoming our 5,000th school to Green Schools Revolution! Castleway Primary School in Leasowe on the Wirral became the latest school to join the thousands of primary and secondary schools all over the UK taking part.
In recognition of the milestone, the local Co-operative Food manager, Margi Trueman from the Hoylake Road store popped in to present the school's Eco Committee with a donation of £100 and a hamper packed full of fresh produce and Fairtrade products.
Vicki Coleman, Eco-Coordinator at Castleway Primary School said: "We place a strong emphasis on environmental education in school, and incorporate this into subjects across all year groups, but the provision of exciting new learning resources and support through Green Schools Revolution will help us deliver an all encompassing environmental programme over the next year.
"We're delighted to be the 5,000th school to sign up and plan to spend the donation to help further the school's green curriculum."
We're thrilled to have reached this important milestone and to have shared it with the great staff and pupils at Castleway!
