Jo enjoys volunteering and helps by reading newspapers to the blind and serving tea to the elderly at the Princess of Wales Hospital in Bridgend. She’s also a qualified Assistant Leader at 1st Llantwit Major Girl Guides and bakes novelty cakes!
The store in Cowbridge held an in store competition for one of three local primary schools to win a full team football strip.
Customers were handed a token which they placed in the box labelled with the name of their favoured school. In total, 328 votes were cast, with Y Bont Faen just taking the lead with 118 votes.
Jo Cairns, Community Champion said: “The Co-op is a community retailer, committed to supporting its local communities and encouraging children and young people to live active and healthier lifestyles. We are very pleased to be able to present Y Bont Faen Primary with this full strip.
Miss Jackie Jones, P.E. Co-ordinator said "The children are delighted to have won and they will be proud to represent the school wearing their new football kit sponsored by The Co-op. A big thank you to everyone who voted for our school”.
Llanfair Primary and Ysgol Iolo Morganwg each received runners up prizes of £15.00 in Co-op vouchers
