What did they do?
Walked from Bury to 1 Angel Square in the middle of winter!
How much did they raise?
The full story:
Colleagues from Co-op food stores across Bury strode out for charity with a hike from Fishpool to our support centre in Manchester City Centre. Twenty-two colleagues set off from the Parkhills Road food store on Monday, 25 January, in a bid to raise over £3,000 for our Charity Partnership.
Organiser Amanda Marshall, Manager of the Co-op’s food store in Holcombe Brook, Bury explained the inspiration for the activity was because they thought that a hike would help all of the participants to get fitter at the start of a new year, whilst also raising money and awareness for our Charity Partnership.
The team managed to make it in just under 4 hours and raised over £3,574.00.
