Co-op Academy Schools inspiring children, transforming lives

Academies for the future

Learn more about The Co-op Academies Trust which is creating schools across the North of England that inspire children and transform their futures.

What is a Co-op Academy?

Founded on co-operative principles, our academies are dedicated to offering children a better education. One that isn't solely about qualifications, but also about inspiration and the value of working together – with their teachers, fellow pupils and wider community.

We’d be interested to hear from any primary or secondary schools in the North West or West Yorkshire who are considering Academy status. Discover what's required and if your school would be a good fit.

The Co-op Academies Trust has improved all of its academies as shown in academic performance and Ofsted outcomes.

Becoming An Academy

Community matters

We don't just support our academies financially, but develop links with our business and their communities. This gives our pupils and students the chance to develop outside the classroom as much as they do inside. We think that adds up to a better outcome for everyone. Strengthening communities and giving children and young people the skills and values they need to succeed: it's what we do.

Supporting Teachers

Supporting teachers

Each academy runs its own programme of staff development activities, including personalised induction plans, mentoring & support for NQTs, continuing professional development, and leadership development.

Strong leadership

Strong leadership

The Trust’s central team includes members who have been successful school leaders, former Senior HMI and current Ofsted inspectors, and experts in finance, governance, human resources and communications and marketing.

Growing fast

Growing fast

The Co-op Academies Trust is currently responsible for a number of academies in Leeds, Manchester, Oldham and Stoke-on-Trent, with Co-op acting as the sponsor. We aim to grow the number of Co-op academies to 40 by 2022.
