Latest update: We have increased contactless card payments in store to £45. This will make it easier to use this service and helps to protect our colleagues and customers when paying in store.
We’ve paused personalised offers to avoid creating more demand for certain products.
We hope this will:
We’re aiming to get personalised offers up and running again very soon, in the meantime you can still get national deals in store and members will still receive the 5% reward for any purchases made on Co-op own-brand products and services.
Most of our stores will now be open from 7am to 8pm.
Stores with a petrol station will have a closing time of 11pm to allow for access to fuel.
This will give our teams time to re-stock and clean, so that we can continue to provide a good service at this time.
All our stores have a dedicated shopping hour for our vulnerable customers, those that care for them and NHS workers.
This takes place from 8am to 9am Monday to Saturday and from 10am to 11am on Sundays in all our stores.
We are encouraging customers to pay using card and contactless. The limit on contacless card payments have increased to £45, making it easier to use this service in store and helps to protect our customers and colleagues.
We are reducing the number of tills open to provide greater distance between customers.
We'll mark a 1 metre distance with tape in front of the kiosk for customers to stand behind and 2 metre spacing on the floor to guide customer queues.
If necessary, we'll limit the number of customers in the store at any one time to maintain this distance.
We are working to make sure our shops remain stocked but due to high demand we may be low on or out of stock of some items.
To make sure there’s enough for everyone in your community we’re limiting selected products to 2 per person in store, check with your local store for details.
Please only buy what you need.
Some of our delivery slots are booked up at the moment.
Keep checking back to see when more become available.
Where slots are available, you will only be able to order up to 20 items.
Our teams are working hard to get as many of the items requested in an order as possible.
They are also choosing items with as long a life as possible when picking orders.
We are hiring more colleagues and increasing capacity as much as we can, as fast as we can to meet the demand.
We have removed our bagless shopping option to help avoid contamination.
We recognise how hard our colleagues are working to support our communities.
To support them we are:
Co-op CEO Steve Murrells and Co-op Food CEO Jo Whitfield have issued a big thank you to all our colleagues. You can see this on our colleague stories blog here.
The NET needs your support as they raise funds for UK charities providing vital support to those that need it most. You can be a local hero by making a donation and help those most affected by Coronavirus.
Our new colleagues will help us to replenish our shelves more efficiently, fulfil online orders quicker and provide ongoing assistance to vulnerable customers and communities. We're still accepting applications online for roles across the business.
Food banks have seen a significant drop in donations, so for the next 10 weeks, we'll be giving £150,000 worth of food to FareShare, who provide essentials to over 4,000 community food banks across the country.
