Turn your empty milk bottle into a bee-friendly planter to entertain the kids this summer.
Please complete this activity with adult supervision.
Step 1: Use masking tape to tape a line around the bottle around half of the way down.
Step 2: Use the pin to pierce a hole in the bottle so water can drain through.
Step 3: Cut around the masking tape so you’re left with the bottom of the bottle.
Step 4: Roughen the surface of the bottle with sandpaper.
Step 5: Using your acrylic paint and brush, paint your planter yellow. Leave to dry.
Step 6: Once the yellow paint has dried, paint two black stripes onto either side and leave to dry.
Step 7: Draw 2 wings on the blue card and cut them out. Once the paint has dried on the bottle, attach each wing to either side with masking tape.
Step 8: Attach some googly eyes to the front of the bottle and decorate.
Step 9: Add some small pebbles and stones into the bottle and fill half of the bottle with compost.
Step 10: Scatter the seeds onto the compost and cover with a thin layer of compost and add water.
Step 11: Put the pot in a sunny spot for the flowers to grow and bees to enjoy!
