Make a bee hotel with Cravendale
Bees are crucial to our ecosystems as they help pollinate the food we need. Help them on their way by building a habitat for them in your own garden.
Arla Cravendale's bee hotel
What will you need?
- 1x Arla Cravendale Milk Bottle 2L
- 4x Empty toilet rolls
- Scrap Paper
Step 1: Cut the bottle open on one side. Don’t cut the side with the handle so you can hang up your bee hotel.
Step 2: Once open, roll up your scrap paper into small tubes. Make sure they’re all different widths and then put them into the bottle.
Step 3: Stuff your toilet rolls with twigs, grass or leaves and place in the bottle.
Step 4: Continue packing your materials in the sections of the bottle, making sure you fill in any gaps with your cuttings.
Step 5: Put your bee hotel in a quiet, shady spot in your garden – ideally away from your pet cat’s favourite route in and out and away from where you hang your bird feeders.
