Co-op local causes

Giving is better together

Together with our members we're supporting the communities around our stores and funeral homes.

We give 1% of what members spend on Co-op branded products in our stores, plus the proceeds of the 5p levy on single-use carrier bags, to local projects - from improving community spaces or helping school leavers learn life skills, to simply connecting people.

So whether you're buying a pint of Co-op milk or our Halloween treats, you can help make things better for your community.

Members can sign in to see the causes they can support and choose where they want their own 1% to go.

Thanks for helping young people

The On Trak bicycle recycling project in Bradford gives disadvantaged youths the chance to learn engineering skills - just one of the ways our members have helped young people this year.

Thanks for helping us improve community spaces

Co-op members have helped to improve the Woodchurch Community centre on the Wirral, used by over 300 local people every week - from exercise groups and education programmes, to lunch and dance clubs.

Thanks for helping us tackle social isolation

The money we've raised is helping to reconnect isolated and lonely people with their communities, through causes such as Active and In Touch in Frome, Somerset.

Thanks for helping us tackle food poverty

Our members have helped raise over £1,800 so far for the Dundee Bairns charity - giving vulnerable local children regular balanced meals, to help them live healthier, more active lives.

Just one of our causes helping tackle food poverty across the UK.
