Co-op local causes
£19 million for local causes
Thanks to our members, together we've helped raise an amazing £19 million for local causes since November 2017.
We give 1% of what members spend on Co-op branded food products in our stores and selected services, as well as money raised from sales of carrier bags and Co-op scratch cards in our stores, to local projects – from improving community spaces or helping school leavers learn life skills, to simply connecting people.
So just by buying a pint of milk from one of our stores, you could help make things better in your community.
Members can sign in to see the causes their local Co-op is supporting and choose which one they want their own money to go to.
Thanks for helping us improve community spaces
Woodchurch Methodist Church on the Wirral were a round 1 cause and received £3,878 from Co-op's local community fund in November 2017 - they're using the money to improve important shared facilities used by over 300 local people. They provide lots of weekly activities for the community including exercise groups, education and job clubs and a weekly lunch.
In the last 2 years, we've provided 75,000 meals. And we do all of that through funding from local charities and from the Co-op.David Dorword, Founder.
