Chateau le Bonnat

Chateau le Bonnat

Graves is so-named after the stones (or rather, 'gravel') which constitute most of this regions vineyard soils. The appellation of Graves occupies a prominent position in the affections of many claret connoisseurs as the wines are particularly reliable and 'authentic'; they don't tend to be showy, overblown wines but are instead happy to nod respectfully in the direction of tradition. In short they can be described as proper claret. This is one of those 'proper clarets' and it is very fine indeed!
