Ingredients
- 110g turnip
- 250ml vegetable stock
- 10g Co-op unsalted butter
- 1 tsp soft brown sugar
Method
- Peel and cube the turnip, put into a frying pan
- Pour over enough hot chicken or vegetable stock to cover
- Bring to the boil and cook for 20 mins, or until the turnip is tender and the stock has almost evaporated
- If the turnip isn’t cooked, top up with hot water and continue to boil
- Add the butter and a few pinches soft brown sugar
- Swirl the pan to mix
- Cook for 3-5 mins
- Season with black pepper
- Garnish with fresh thyme, if you like
