These tasty waffles make a great start to the day! We went for sweet but you could go savoury. Get ahead by making the batter the night before, if you like

Ingredients
- 2 oranges, peeled and thinly sliced
- 100g Co-op unsalted butter, melted and cooled, plus extra for greasing
- 250g Co-op self raising white flour
- 1½ tsp baking powder
- 2 large Co-op British free range eggs, beaten
- 275ml Co-op semi-skimmed milk
- 80g Co-op Irresistible Fairtrade white chocolate
- 2 tbsp Co-op flaked almonds, toasted
Method
- Preheat the oven to 180°C/fan160°C/gas 4
- Put the orange on a greased baking tray, and roast for 10-15 mins until slightly coloured, then set aside
- Meanwhile, combine the flour and baking powder in a large mixing bowl
- Make a well in the centre, then pour in the egg and milk
- Gradually whisk together until smooth, then whisk in the butter
- Grease a griddle pan, then set over a medium-high heat
- Once it’s hot, ladle in half the batter
- Reduce the heat to medium and cook for 5-6 mins, until the top is bubbling and just set
- Carefully flip over, using two spatulas. Griddle for a further 5-6 mins, until cooked all the way through, then keep warm
- Repeat with the remaining batter
- Meanwhile, microwave the chocolate in 30-second bursts until melted
- Halve each waffle, then serve topped with the orange and almonds, with the chocolate drizzled over
