Ingredients

  • 1 thick Co-op slice bread
  • 4 tbsp Co-op semi-skimmed milk
  • 400g Co-op 5% fat British lean beef steak mince
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 Co-op British egg
  • 2 tbsp Co-op olive oil
  • 2 x 400g cans chopped tomatoes with herbs
  • 1 clove garlic, peeled and crushed
  • To serve, spaghetti or your favourite pasta

Method

  1. Put the bread into a bowl and pour over the milk. Leave to soak for around 10 mins, then mash with a fork
  2. Add the mince, oregano and egg
  3. Use a fork to bring it together, making sure the egg is well mixed in
  4. Use your hands to divide the mixture into 4 pieces, then divide each piece into 3 equal chunks
  5. Roll each piece between your palms to make 12 balls
  6. Heat the olive oil in a pan over medium heat
  7. Add the meatballs and gently fry all over, until well browned
  8. Add the tomatoes to the pan, along with the crushed garlic
  9. Bubble for 25 mins
  10. Serve with spaghetti or your favourite pasta
