Ingredients
- 1 thick Co-op slice bread
- 4 tbsp Co-op semi-skimmed milk
- 400g Co-op 5% fat British lean beef steak mince
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 Co-op British egg
- 2 tbsp Co-op olive oil
- 2 x 400g cans chopped tomatoes with herbs
- 1 clove garlic, peeled and crushed
- To serve, spaghetti or your favourite pasta
Method
- Put the bread into a bowl and pour over the milk. Leave to soak for around 10 mins, then mash with a fork
- Add the mince, oregano and egg
- Use a fork to bring it together, making sure the egg is well mixed in
- Use your hands to divide the mixture into 4 pieces, then divide each piece into 3 equal chunks
- Roll each piece between your palms to make 12 balls
- Heat the olive oil in a pan over medium heat
- Add the meatballs and gently fry all over, until well browned
- Add the tomatoes to the pan, along with the crushed garlic
- Bubble for 25 mins
- Serve with spaghetti or your favourite pasta
