Ingredients

  • 700g Co-op white potatoes, finely sliced
  • 400ml Co-op semi skimmed milk
  • 2 cloves garlic, peeled and finely chopped
  • 650g Co-op sweet potatoes, finely sliced
  • 200ml Co-op double cream
  • Few pinches ground nutmeg

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C/fan 160°C/Gas 4
  2. Add the white potatoes to a pan, pour over the milk, add the garlic and season
  3. Bring to the boil, then simmer for about 10 mins
  4. Drain, reserving the milk and garlic
  5. Alternately layer the white and sweet potato slices in an ovenproof dish
  6. Stir the cream into the milk and pour over the potatoes
  7. Sprinkle over the nutmeg, cover with foil and bake for 1 1/2 hours
  8. Remove the foil
  9. Turn the oven up to 200°C/fan 180°C/Gas 6
  10. Bake for 20 30 mins, until the top is browned and crispy
