Global Legal Hackathon Manchester

The University of Manchester & Federation host the Manchester event for the world’s largest legal hackathon – the Global Legal Hackathon

Brought to you by The University of Manchester, home of the Manchester Law & Technology Initiative, and The Federation, part of Co-op Group. This event is part of the Global Legal Hackathon, with 40+ cities around the globe hosting simultaneous hackathons bringing the legal industry together with non-legal technical specialists, academics, students and beyond, to apply innovative ideas and emerging technologies to progress the business of law, or to facilitate access to the law from the public. Teams will work to develop solutions that fit into either of two streams: * Private Benefit - The Business & Practice of Law * Public Benefit - Good government, Legal Systems & A2J Enter as an individual or team to take part in this exciting Manchester event seeking to develop solutions to improve legal services delivery. Individual entrants will be placed into teams at the launch event, teams should have a mix of technical (coders) and strategy specialists and will require a level of legal knowledge.

A full explanation of rules and guidelines, format, examples of some previous successful ideas, plus team formation and logistics including timings for the hackathon weekend is available on the GLH website, please review this before registering: After two days 'hacking' a Manchester winning team will be declared on March 8th to go through to the global (virtual) semi-finals on 22 March. From that finalists will be announced, and those teams will be invited to the gala finals held at a banquet in London on a date and a venue in May to be announced shortly.
