The COVID-19 gender gap: the impact of the pandemic on gender inequalities
Join the SMF, in partnership with UK Research and Innovation, for an Ask the Expert panel on gender inequalities in the UK labour market.
At the event, Director of the CEPR Labour Economics Programme, Professor Barbara Petrongolo will present new data drawn from Understanding Society’s COVID-19 supplement - a longitudinal study of the impact of coronavirus on UK households.
Recent research has revealed that the coronavirus outbreak has had an immediate adverse effect on the existing inequalities that impact women in the labour market. Despite much work towards ending these pre-existing inequalities, will the pandemic set back the progress already made? What can we do to prevent this, and what measures can we take to ensure that progress is continued to be made during this time of uncertainty?
Join our panel of experts Professor Barbara Petrongolo, the Rt Hon Baroness Nicky Morgan, and Matthew Percival, for what promises to be an interesting and important discussion.
