The Co-operative to open new food store in Llanfairfechan

March 20, 2014

The Co-operative Group has announced plans to open a new food store in Llanfairfechan.

It has agreed a deal to relocate its existing small convenience store on Village Road to a new larger unit at the site of the former health centre, also on Village Road.

Existing staff will transfer to the new store, and it is expected that an additional six to eight jobs will be created.

Subject to construction work progressing as planned, and to the necessary licensing being obtained, the new store is expected to open later this year. It will have a sales area of around 2,500 sq ft, and 22 car parking spaces.

John Hillman, The Co-operative Food Regional Acquisitions Manager for Wales and the Borders, said:

“A new larger store on Village Road will allow us to provide an even better service for our customers. The location is ideal for us, and we are very confident the new store will be an asset to Llanfairfechan.”
