Our new crownless pineapples are a great example of how sustainability and convenience can go hand in hand. By removing the crown we can increase the number of pineapples into each shipment by 20%. By fitting more pineapples into each shipment we lower our "per-pineapple" transport emissions from the farmers to our distribution centres in the UK. The crowns don’t go to waste either, they’re replanted to grown into new pineapples or turned into animal feed for local farmers.
For our customers, they take up less space in your basket and fridge, reduce waste, and are quicker to prepare, making it more convenient to enjoy our tasty pineapples!
