Entry instructions are deemed to form part of the Terms and Conditions. By entering this promotion all participants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by the Terms and Conditions and to their details being communicated to the Promoter’s representatives so that the Promoter or its representatives can contact the participant in connection with the promotion (as necessary). Please retain a copy for your information.

  • PROMOTER: This promotion is operated by Co-operative Group Food Limited, a registered society under the Co-operative and Community Benefit Societies Act 2014, Registered No 26715R with registered office at 1 Angel Square, Manchester, M60 0AG. References to ‘we’, ‘us’ or ‘our’ in these terms and conditions are references to the Promoter.

  • OPENING AND CLOSING DATE: This promotion runs from 00:01 19 August 2024 and 23:59 1 September 2024 (the “Promotional Period”). Any entries made before the opening date or after the closing date will not be valid and will not be entered into this promotion.

  • ELIGIBILITY: This promotion is only open to Co-op Group Members and employee members of Co-operative Group Limited who access the Co-op App during the Promotional Period and complete the ‘Owned by Who?’ scratch card game. UK residents only, 18+. Internet access required. 1 entry per member only. Temporary Membership card holders are excluded from this promotion. This promotion is not available at independent societies, Midcounties, Central England, Southern or Chelmsford Star co-operatives, some Co-op Live concession stores, Co-op franchise stores or in non-Co-op branded stores (such as Nisa). We may require proof of identity or age.

  • HOW TO ENTER: To enter, members must access the Co-op App during the Promotional Period and click the link on the Co-op app homepage to continue to the ‘Owned by Who?’ scratch card game. Members can only play once during the Promotional Period. Once the game has opened, members will be required to engage with the game or automatically reveal the answer to be entered into a prize draw to win 1 of 20 prizes, further detailed in clause 5 (Prizes).

Co-op members must also have chosen a Local Community Fund Cause (the “Cause”) to support via the Co-op Membership App, Website or by calling the Co-op Contact Centre on 0800 068 6727. If a Co-op member is picked as a winner and they have not yet chosen their Cause, they will be given a 5 working day window to review and choose. If the winner chooses not to do so or does not select a Cause within 5 working days of notification, their prize will be forfeited, and another winner will be selected at random in line with the winner selection process at clause 6.

  • PRIZES: There are 20 prizes in total to be won during the Promotional Period, consisting of (1) £500 credit on the winners’ valid Co-op Group Membership card (“Prize 1”) and (2) up to £5,000 for the winner’s chosen participating Cause (“Prize 2”). We reserve the right amend, update or change these prizes at any time if it becomes necessary to do so.

Prizes are non-exchangeable, non-transferable and no cash alternative can be requested. Prizes are provided at our discretion, and we may substitute or change it for a prize of an equivalent or greater value if circumstances beyond our control make it necessary to do so.

Any credit under Prize 1 will be added to the winners’ valid Co-op Group Membership card and can be spent in Co-op Group Food stores, at Co-op Funeralcare or with Co-op Legal Services. We reserve the right to transfer any remaining balance on the winner’s Membership card to an alternative solution if it becomes necessary to do so. Any credit under Prize 1 is linked to the winning member’s valid membership card – if a new membership card is received once the credit has been uploaded, the credit will not be transferred to the new card. Any other member rewards (not including Prize 1) must be spent by 31/12/2024.

The winners’ chosen Cause will be contacted via their primary and secondary email and phone number associated with their existing Local Community Fund project details with regard to Prize 2, once the member winner has confirmed acceptance. Causes can request a reduced amount if they are unable to use the full amount of Prize 2. The amount of money given per cause will not exceed £5,000. If the prize is deemed to be too much for the selected Cause, we will reduce the amount of money to suit the Cause’s needs at our discretion. If the selected Cause does not wish to participate and accept Prize 2, a replacement Cause will not be chosen.

The money received by the Cause can contribute towards a project applied for as part of the current Local Community Fund giving period, or a project supporting their local community in line with their objectives after discussion and agreement with the Local Community Fund Co-op Team.

We will ask the winning Cause to tell us what they will be spending the money on and when informing them of winning will ask for permission for their story to be featured in PR and other communications activity to raise awareness of the Local Community Fund and how the additional funding boost will help.

  • WINNER SELECTION: Winners will be drawn W/C 2nd September 2024 on using a randomised computer process.

  • WINNERS LIST: Winners names and respective counties of residence can be made available upon request by emailing Co-opAppGames@coop.co.uk with the subject title ‘Owned by Who Game Winners List’ within twenty-eight (28) days of the date of the winner selection. By entering, winner’s consent to such information being disclosed upon request. You have the right to ask that we stop any consent-based processing of your personal data after you withdraw that consent.

  • NOTIFICATION: Winners will be contacted via their email and phone number associated to their Co-op Membership account upon entry. Entrants must make sure that the email address and phone number associated with their account is up-to-date and active – if no contact details are available, a replacement winner will be drawn. Winners will receive a phone call in the week commencing 2 September 2024 from Co-op. This phone call will be recorded and shared in line with the terms at clause 14. The winner will then be sent a follow up email to confirm their prize from Co-opAppGames@coop.co.uk. If the winner does not respond to the phone call to confirm their prize, a voicemail will be left and the winner must respond to first email correspondence from Co-op, within fourteen (14) working days of the email being sent, to confirm acceptance of the prize. Another two (2) attempts will be made to contact the winner via phone within this fourteen (14) working day period. If no confirmation is received, or if the winner does not wish to accept or receive the prize at this stage, the prize will be forfeited, and another winner will be selected at random for the eligible received entries.

If the winner does not have a phone number linked to their membership card, the winner will be contacted solely via email. A total of 3 emails will be sent to the winner during the fourteen (14) working day period. The winner must respond to the email correspondence, within fourteen (14) working days of the first email being sent, to confirm acceptance of the prize. If no confirmation is received, or if the winner does not wish to accept or receive the prize at this stage, the prize will be forfeited, and another winner will be selected at random for the eligible received entries.

If the winner does not have an email address linked to their membership card, the winner will be contacted solely via phone calls. A total of 3 calls will be made to the winner during the fourteen (14) working day period. The winner must respond within fourteen (14) working days of the first phone call being made, to confirm acceptance of the prize. If no confirmation is received, or if the winner does not wish to accept or receive the prize at this stage, the prize will be forfeited, and another winner will be selected at random for the eligible received entries.

Winners should allow 28 days from claiming the prize for delivery. We accept no responsibility where Membership cards are incorrectly scanned or a Member enters with incomplete or incorrect information held on the Member’s record.

Cause winners will be notified within 10 working days of the member winner confirming acceptance, via their primary and secondary email addresses and by the phone number that is associated with Local Community Fund details. If the cause does not respond to the phone call to confirm their prize, a voicemail will be left and the cause must respond to email correspondence. If any cause fails to respond to either the first phone call or first email within 14 working days, this will result in the Cause not receiving their prize funds until the following calendar month. If any Cause declines Prize 2 or fails to acknowledge the winning confirmation email within four weeks of last contact, they forfeit any right to the prize. A replacement Cause will not be chosen.

  • DECISIONS OF THE PROMOTER: If there is any dispute about the receipt or validity of any coupon or any other aspect of the promotion, this will be decided by us. Our decision regarding any aspect of the promotion is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into about it. We are not responsible for any third-party acts or omissions. We reserve the right to cancel or amend this promotion due to events or circumstances arising beyond our control. The Promoter is not responsible for any third-party acts or omissions.

  • AGREEMENT TO THESE TERMS AND CONDITIONS: Entry to this promotion shall constitute your acceptance of these terms and conditions and your agreement to be bound by them. These terms and conditions take effect immediately upon entry to the promotion. These terms and conditions prevail in the event of a conflict or inconsistency with any other communications, including advertising or promotional materials.

  • DISQUALIFICATION: We reserve the right to reject any entry, withhold any prize and disqualify you from the promotion if we reasonably suspect you of failing to comply with these terms and conditions or of fraud, cheating or dishonesty, without limitation, through the manipulation of codes, multiple computer-generated entries, or otherwise fraudulently falsifying data or acting fraudulently or dishonestly in the Promoter’s opinion. Entries must be made personally. Entries made through agents/third-parties, bulk entries or automated entries are invalid.

  • NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR ENTRIES NOT RECEIVED: The Promoter accepts no responsibility for lost, damaged, incomplete, illegible or delayed entries and such entries will be void. The Promoter cannot guarantee uninterrupted or secure access to the entry route. We accept no responsibility for entries not successfully received by us, or which are delayed, due to a technical fault, technical malfunction, computer hardware or software failure, satellite, network, or server failure of any kind whether or not such failure is within the control of the Promotor or its agents. Proof of submission of entry is not proof of receipt of entry.

  • USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION TO ADMINISTER PROMOTION: By entering this promotion, you agree to us collecting and using your personal data. We, and any third party agencies acting on our behalf, may collect personal information from you in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018 and other applicable data privacy laws.   • LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: All conditions, warranties and representations expressed or implied by law or otherwise in connection with the prize and the promotion are excluded to the fullest extent permitted by law and the Promoter shall be under no liability whatsoever or howsoever arising in connection with any loss, damage or injury, directly or indirectly occurring as a result of the provision of, or use of, the prize. We make no attempt to exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury arising as a result of negligence.

  • RELEVANT LAW: This promotion and these terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England, and you agree to submit to the jurisdiction of the English courts if any dispute arises.

  • GENERAL: The Promoter is not responsible for any third-party acts or omissions. We cannot guarantee that the event will be free from disruptions, failings, or cancellations. We are not liable for such disruptions, failings, or cancellations unless they are caused by our negligence.
