  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 500g beef mince
  • 1 onion, peeled
  • 2 carrots
  • 1 tin of tomatoes
  • 1 beef stock cube
  • Salt and pepper


  1. Warm the oil in a large saucepan on a high heat
  2. Add in the mince when the oil is hot and use a wooden spoon to break it up
  3. Fry the mince for 10 minutes until brown and any liquid has evaporated
  4. Meanwhile grate the 2 carrots and the onion on a coarse grater. Add them to the cooked beef and fry for 5 minutes
  5. Then add the tin of tomatoes, fill the empty tin with water and add that too, sprinkle in the beef stock cube and plenty of salt and pepper and leave to simmer for 15 minutes
  6. Serve with spaghetti and cheese
