£500/£5k Prize Terms
By entering this prize draw, you agree to these terms and conditions and these terms and conditions shall prevail in the event of conflict or inconsistency with any other communication about this Promotion.
1. Promoter: Co-operative Group Limited (26715R) whose registered address is at 1 Angel Square, Manchester, M60 0AG. Reference to ‘we’, ‘us’, or ‘our’ mean the Promoter.
2. Promotion Period: 03 November – 30 November 2025. Purchases made outside of these dates will not be included.
3. How to Enter:
a) Visit the ‘Discover’ tab in the Co-op App and select ‘November Prize Draws’
b) Select the ‘£500 for you/£5,000 for your Local Community Fund Cause’ prize draw option and follow the steps as prompted;
c) Spend at least £5 in a Co-op Group Food store and scan your membership card/app at the till or sign in online at shop.coop.co.uk.
d) Each £5 spent in the same or a new transaction will result in another entry. Any amount between a £5 increment will not count towards a future spend. Members that join in November will receive double entries.
e) The following products shall not count towards the basket spend – first stage baby milk, postage stamps, lottery purchases, gift cards and vouchers, phone cards, in store concessions, PayPoint, cigarettes, tobacco and vapes, saving stamps, newspapers, carrier bags, mobile phone top-ups and prescription medicines. We accept no liability for entries that are illegible or delayed and they will be void from the Promotion. Proof of submission does not amount to proof of entry.
4. Prize:
(i) There are five prizes available of £500 Co-op credit to be added to the winning member’s Co-op Member wallet and £5,000 to the winning member’s chosen Local Community Fund Cause.
(ii) To win this prize, a member must have selected a Local Community Fund Cause to support prior to the Promotion Period ending.
(iii) A Local Community Fund Cause can be selected via the Co-op Membership App, Website or by calling the Co-op Contact Centre on 0800 068 6727. Network charges may apply.
(iv) Each Co-op Member and Local Community Fund Cause can only win a Local Community Fund prize draw once within a 12-month period. If a Local Community Fund Cause has already won a prize during the Promotion Period or in the preceding 12 months, the winning member will be sent a list of alternative causes in their local community to choose from. The winning member must choose a cause within 4 weeks of being first contacted. If a replacement Local Community Fund Cause is not chosen within this timeframe, the £5,000 prize will be added to the Local Community Fund which will be distributed between all Local Community Fund Causes across the UK at the end of December 2025.
(v) The £500 Co-op credit member prize will be added to the winners’ valid Co-op membership wallet and can only be spent in Co-op Food stores, at Co-op Funeralcare or with Co-op Legal Services. Not available in independent societies, some Co-op Live concessions stores, Co-op franchise stores, or in non-Co-op branded stores (such as Nisa).
(vi) We reserve the right to transfer any remaining balance in the winner’s member wallet to an alternative solution if it becomes necessary to do so. The winners’ chosen Local Community Fund Cause (“Cause”) will be contacted within 25 working days of the draw. Causes can request a reduced amount if they are unable to use the full amount of £5,000. The amount of money given per cause will not exceed £5,000. If the prize is deemed to be too much for the selected Cause, we will reduce the amount of money to suit the Cause’s needs at our discretion. If the selected Cause does not wish to participate and accept £5,000, a replacement Cause will not be chosen, and the £5,000 will be added to the Local Community Fund which will be distributed between all Local Community Fund Causes across the UK at the end of December 2025.
(vii) If any Cause declines a prize or fails to accept their prize within four weeks of being contacted via their agreed contact methods, they forfeit any right to the prize. A replacement Cause will not be chosen, and the £5,000 will be added to the Local Community Fund which will be distributed between all Local Community Fund Causes across the UK at the end of December 2025.
(viii) The money received by the Cause can contribute towards a project applied for as part of the current Local Community Fund giving period, or a project supporting their local community in line with their objectives. We will ask the winning Cause to tell us what they will be spending the money on and when informing them of winning will ask for permission for their story to be featured in PR and other communications activity to raise awareness of the Local Community Fund and how the additional funding will help.
(ix) Causes retain the right to opt out of this promotion and will have the ability to do so at https://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/MemberPrizes.
(x) Prizes are provided at our discretion, and we may substitute or change it for a prize of an equivalent or greater value if circumstances beyond our control make it necessary to do so.
(xi) Prizes are non-exchangeable, non-transferable and no cash alternative can be requested.
5. Eligibility: Promotion is open to UK residents who are Co-op Group Members aged 18 and over. Temporary membership card holders and employees involved in the creation of the prize draw are excluded.
6. Winner Selection and Notification:
a) There will be 5 winners which will be drawn at random within 25 days of the end of the Promotion Period by the Promoter using a randomised computer generator.
b) Winners will be notified by the Promoter via competitionsupport@coop.co.uk to the email address linked to the winner’s Co-op Membership account within 25 days of the winners being selected. If a winner doesn’t respond and provide any required details within 5 days of being notified, the prize will be forfeited, and another winner will be picked at random. The Promoter accepts no liability for incorrect details being entered for the winners Co-op Membership account.
c) Winners’ names and counties of residence can be requested from competitionsupport@coop.co.uk no earlier than 4 weeks or later than 6 weeks of the winners being drawn.
d) The Promoter accepts no liability for prizes that are lost, delayed, stolen or unused by their expiry date.
7. Disqualification, Cancellation or Changes:
a) Co-op can:
i. reject any entry, withhold any prize and disqualify you from the Promotion if we suspect non-compliance with these terms, fraud, cheating or dishonesty;
ii. withdraw or cancel the Promotion without prior notice and without liability to any other party if it is necessary to do so; and
iii. amend these terms and conditions at any time with updated terms and conditions being found at www.coop.co.uk/terms/memberprizes.
8. Decision of the Promoter: If there is any dispute about the receipt or validity of any entry or other aspect of the Promotion, our decision is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into. We reserve the right to cancel or amend the Promotion due to circumstances beyond our control.
9. Personal Information: We, other members of the Co-op Group and any third-party agencies acting on our behalf, may collect personal information from you in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018 and any other applicable data privacy laws and will only use your personal information for the purposes of administering this Promotion or for promotional purposes. 10. Limitation of Liability: All conditions, warranties and representations expressed or implied by law are otherwise in connection with any aspect of this Promotion are excluded to the fullest extent permitted by law and the Promoter shall have no liability whatsoever or howsoever arising out of or in connection with any loss, damage or injury suffered as a direct result of the provision or use of the Prize or this Promotion or for any act or omission of any third-party. We make no attempt to exclude or limit liability for fraud, death or personal injury arising as a result of our negligence.
