This easy pudding, using Co-op Fairtrade chocolate, is a real treat

  • 125g Co-op unsalted butter, plus extra for greasing
  • 250g Co-op self raising flour
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 75g Co-op Fairtrade cocoa powder
  • 300g soft light brown sugar
  • 175ml Co-op whole milk
  • 4 Co-op British free range eggs
  • 135g bar Co-op Fairtrade dark chocolate, roughly chopped
  • Serve with 10 scoops Co-op Irresistible Madagascan vanilla ice cream (optional)


  1. Grease your slow cooker
  2. Sieve the flour into a large bowl with the cinnamon and 50g of the cocoa powder
  3. Stir in 150g of the sugar, breaking up any lumps as you go
  4. Whisk the milk and eggs together in a jug
  5. Melt the butter over a low heat in a small saucepan, then add to the milk and egg mixture
  6. Pour the liquid over the dry ingredients and whisk for 1-2 mins, until you have a thick, smooth batter
  7. Fold the chopped chocolate into the batter, then pour into the slow cooker
  8. Mix the remaining cocoa powder and sugar with 300ml boiling water and pour over the top of the batter
  9. Cook on high for 1 hour 45 mins to 2 hours, until the sponge has risen and is firm
  10. Serve with a scoop of ice cream, if you like
