Ingredients
- 4 Co-op Irresistible Hereford beef burgers
- 2 tbsp Co-op Fairtrade light brown soft sugar
- 1 tbsp apple sauce
- 4 rashers Co-op Irresistible smoked streaky bacon
- 4 Co-op Irresistible brioche buns
- 4 tbsp Co-op reduced fat mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 2 gherkins, finely chopped
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tomato, sliced
- 4 Co-op lighter mature Cheddar cheese slices
- Iceberg lettuce, to serve
Method
- Preheat the oven to 200°C/fan 180°C/Gas 6
- Grill the burgers according to the pack instructions, then cover with foil and leave to rest for 5 mins
- Meanwhile, mix the sugar and apple sauce
- Toss the bacon in the mixture and bake for 15-18 mins, until crisp
- Halve, then lightly toast the buns
- Combine the mayonnaise, ketchup, gherkins, and mustard
- Spread on the cut sides of the buns, then fill each with a few slices of tomato, a burger, 1 cheese slice, 1 bacon rasher and some iceberg lettuce to serve
