Ingredients
- 397g can condensed milk
- 2 Co-op Irresistible buttermilk crumpets
- 1 Co-op British apple
Method
- To make the toffee sauce, first remove the label from the can of condensed milk
- Carefully lower the can into a pan of boiling water and cook for 2 hours It’s important to make sure the pan doesn’t boil dry, so keep topping it up with water
- After 2 hours, carefully remove the can and leave to cool
- Toast the crumpets, slice in 1/2 horizontally, then toast again until golden
- Carefully open the can of condensed milk and spoon 1 tbsp of the toffee sauce over each
- Leave to cool until the crumpets have absorbed the toffee and are sticky and slightly crunchy
- Core and thinly slice the apple, then top the crumpets with the apple slices and an extra 1 tsp of toffee each
