If you spent £100 with Co-op in 2025 or have a product from one of our businesses, it’s time to vote and help shape the next 12 months at Co-op.

This year, the motions put forward by our National Members’ Council have been inspired by the views and ideas shared by thousands of members at our autumn events and through our online conversations, so please have your say and help us do right by you.

Even if you can’t vote, you can still make a difference on 16 May by joining us online from home, at one of 12 local events around the UK or at Canalside Café at Co-op Live in Manchester.

Our 7m members belong to the UK’s largest consumer co-operative.

The £1 you spend to join us is your piece of our business, and the stores and funeral homes on your corner are where local teams are at the heart of your community for what you need, when you need it.

Every year, thousands of our member owners share their views and ideas on the challenges they face, and we then empower you to tackle them together with us. In 2025, we heard that the cost of living continued to be a big concern and that you wanted help to thrive both where you live and in how you live. So, this year, we will be backing customers, members, businesses and communities in Britain with our products, services and co-operative difference.

There’s something different about Co-op products and services

From being the first UK retailer to source 100% British fresh and frozen own-brand protein, to becoming the first UK retailer to move to 100% British own-brand strawberries for the summer in 2025, we’re committed to farmers and growers in Britain.

Our member owners asked us to go even further with our animal welfare commitments. Now, all fresh, breaded and ready-to-eat chicken has 20% more space in barns as part of our ‘Space to thrive’ programme.

Together with you, our member owners, we’ve been championing Fairtrade for over 30 years. To celebrate three decades of support, we launched a Fairtrade chocolate bar inspired by member owners just like you.

Co-op is the only supermarket with an own brand charity water. Every time you buy Co-op water, you’re protecting farmers and supply chains and helping The One Foundation provide access to clean water around the world.

We work with and for you

100 Co-op Member Owners from around the UK are your representatives on Co-op's National Members' Council. They meet throughout the year to champion what you care about with leaders and decision-makers and help our businesses meet your needs.

At the highest level of Co-op, there are Board Members elected by you. They oversee the strategy of our businesses and are committed to making decisions with our Co-op Values & Principles at the forefront.

Throughout the UK, our network of Member Activators raise awareness of our membership and work closely with Co-op Members and other colleagues to deliver initiatives on the issues that matter most in our communities.

Young members have been influencing and shaping decisions at Co-op through our Co-op Young Members’ Group (CYMG) since 2013.

Over 50,000 member owners asked for help with the cost of living and more affordable, healthy options. That's why we've been price-matching everyday essentials to Aldi and we're keeping it going.

We've also made it easier than ever to make healthy choices, just look for our new 'YES' icon on over 200 Co-op products.

2025 was the second UN International Year of Co-ops. As part of empowering you, we showcased how co-operatives build a better world together.

Co-op turned 181 in 2025, so spend 181 seconds with us as we share all the ways Co-op Member Owners got involved over the year.

With your views on peace and concerns on conflict and crisis in mind, the Co-op Board carried out a review of our Sourcing Policy. As of summer 2025, we no longer source from countries where there are internationally recognised human rights abuses and violations. Find out more on our website.
