Can I get travel insurance if I have cancer?

Most of the time, yes, if you make sure you tell us about your cancer and any other medical conditions. We'll ask you some questions about your treatment and health when you get a quote. The cover and price we can offer will depend on your answers.

What if my health changes after I buy insurance?

Tell us if your health changes before you travel. This includes if:

  • you develop a new medical condition
  • an existing condition changes
  • your medication changes

You should also speak to your doctor before you travel.

Can I get travel insurance while waiting for cancer test results?

Yes. You can still get travel insurance while you're waiting for test results. But you will not be covered for anything linked to the condition you're waiting to hear about. Once you have a diagnosis, tell us and we'll update your cover.

Can I get travel insurance if I'm in remission from cancer?

Yes. You can get travel insurance if your cancer is in remission. When you get a quote, we’ll ask you some questions about your health. You’ll need to tell us what type of cancer you’ve had and that you’re in remission to be covered.

What types of cancer can you cover?

We can usually cover all types of cancer if you tell us when you get a quote online or if you call. If your cancer is not listed you can tell us about it when you get a quote. Some of those we often cover include:

  • lymphoma
  • prostate cancer
  • skin cancer

Can I get travel insurance if I have a terminal cancer diagnosis?

We may still be able to cover you if you've been given a terminal prognosis. Your doctor will need to confirm that you are fit to travel and that your prognosis is at least 6 months from the date you are due to return home. Call us to talk about your cover.
