We have longstanding relationships with a number of local churches, including St Michael's Church, St Paul's RC Church, All Saints Church, and St James' Church, and we are well placed to help co-ordinate a traditional religious service at whichever is meaningful to your family. Equally, if you would prefer a non-religious or humanist ceremony, we can help arrange that too, whether held at one of the crematoriums we use or at another venue of your choosing. Our team's role is simply to make sure the service truly reflects the person who has died.
Please do call us as soon as you feel ready, day or night, and our team will talk you through everything calmly and without any rush. One of the most immediate things we can help with is bringing your father into our care, and our chapel of rest on Fenkle Street means he can rest peacefully close to home while arrangements are made. We'll also guide you through the necessary paperwork, including registering the death, so you never have to feel uncertain about what comes next.
We do cover Rothbury, and our team is very familiar with families coming to us from across the surrounding countryside. As well as Rothbury, we regularly support families from Longhoughton, Shilbottle, Whittingham, and Wooler, bringing them the same care and attention as those closer to our Fenkle Street funeral home. If you're unsure whether we cover your area, please do give us a call and we'll be happy to help.
There is street parking directly opposite our funeral home on Fenkle Street, available for up to two hours with a parking disc, which makes visiting as straightforward as possible during what is already a difficult time. Our arrangement room is on the ground floor, which means there are no stairs to navigate when you come to meet with us. We do want to be transparent that we do not currently have step-free wheelchair access or an accessible toilet on site, so if you have particular accessibility needs, please call us beforehand and we will do everything we can to make alternative arrangements for your family.
From our Alnwick funeral home we work with three crematoriums depending on what best suits your family: Northumberland Felton, Cowpen Blyth, and West Road in Newcastle. On the day, our team will guide the procession from the chapel or the family's chosen gathering point, and we take care of all the arrangements so that your focus can remain on being together. Each crematorium has its own character and our team can talk you through what to expect at whichever location feels right.
