Yes, our team on Holmlea Road is very familiar with families throughout Shawlands and the surrounding neighbourhoods, including Merrylee, Mount Florida, and Hurlet. We have been serving this part of Glasgow since 1980, so wherever you are in the area, we are well placed to help you through every step of arranging a funeral.
We work closely with Catholic churches in the area, including St Helen's RC and St Mary Immaculate, and we have built strong relationships with their clergy over the decades since we opened in 1980. Whether your family needs a full Requiem Mass or a shorter service of committal, our team on Holmlea Road will liaise directly with the church on your behalf to make sure every detail is handled with care.
Please do not hesitate to call us at any time, day or night, as our team is available around the clock to come to you and bring your father into our care at our Holmlea Road funeral home. Once he is with us, we will explain the paperwork — including registering the death at the local register office — and we will take things at whatever pace your family needs, so you never feel rushed or unsure of the next step.
On the day of a cremation, our team will bring your loved one to the chosen venue — we regularly work with local churches such as St Helen's RC and St Mary Immaculate — before travelling in procession to the crematorium. The service itself typically lasts around 30 to 45 minutes and can include music, readings, or tributes that reflect your loved one's life, and our funeral directors will guide your family through everything so you know exactly what to expect.
There is street parking close to our funeral home on Holmlea Road, with a mix of free spaces and payable bays nearby, so most families are able to find somewhere to park without too much difficulty. Our arrangement room is on the ground floor and the building has both wheelchair access and an accessible toilet, meaning anyone in your family can attend comfortably when you come in to make arrangements.
