Co-op Funeralcare, Bridgeton
517 London Road, Bridgeton, G40 1NQ
We're a funeral home in the heart of Bridgeton, serving the communities of Dalmarnock, Glasgow Green, Parkhead and Dennistoun since 1980. Our clients describe us as "patient, kind, and compassionate". These are words we live by every day as we strive to give everyone who comes to us the best experience possible when arranging a funeral.
We will be led by you in making the funeral arrangements. We will listen as you tell us about who they were and what feels right for them. Then we will use our established relationships with local places of worship and crematoriums in the area, like Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Bridgeton St Francis-in-the-East and Gateway Church Glasgow to create the funeral that feels right.
When you need to arrange a funeral, pick up the phone or visit us in person at our funeral home on London Road. You'll get a warm welcome, unlimited support and our help every step of the way.

Yes, our team on London Road is very much here for families in Dalmarnock, as well as Bridgeton, Parkhead, Dennistoun, Glasgow Green, and the surrounding areas. We have been supporting local families since 1980, so you can be confident you are in experienced, caring hands. Please do get in touch with us and we will talk through everything at a pace that suits you.
We work closely with a number of local churches and venues, including Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Bridgeton St Francis-in-the-East, and Gateway Church Glasgow, so arranging a religious service is something we do regularly. Whether your family's faith is central to the ceremony or you would simply like certain prayers or readings included, our team will liaise directly with the minister or priest on your behalf. We are equally experienced in arranging non-religious and humanist funerals for families who prefer a more personal celebration of life.
When someone dies, you do not need to have everything figured out straight away — our team at London Road is here to take the weight off your shoulders from the very first call. We can arrange for your loved one to be brought into our care at any time, and once they are with us, you can visit them in our chapel of rest whenever you feel ready. The practical steps, such as registering the death and collecting paperwork, can be walked through together during an arrangement meeting in our ground-floor arrangement room, which is fully accessible for anyone with mobility needs.
On the day of the cremation, our team will bring your loved one to the service venue — whether that is here at our London Road funeral home, which can welcome up to 55 people, or at a local church such as Sacred Heart Catholic Church or Bridgeton St Francis-in-the-East. The service itself usually lasts around 30 to 45 minutes and follows whatever order of ceremony your family has chosen, from a traditional religious service to a more personal, non-religious farewell. Afterwards, our team will guide you through what happens next, including the timescales for receiving your loved one's ashes.
There are around 12 parking bays directly outside our funeral home on London Road, one of which is a designated disabled space, so most families will find it straightforward to park close to the door. Additional street parking and a nearby free car park mean that even when a service is being held, guests arriving from across Glasgow Green or Dennistoun should not struggle to find a space. Our building is fully wheelchair accessible and has an accessible toilet, so everyone in your family is welcome and catered for.
