Co-op Funeralcare, Bridgwater
6-8 St. John Street, Bridgwater, TA6 5HS
We're a funeral home in the heart of Bridgwater, serving the communities of Chedzoy, Bawdrip, Woolavington and Puriton since 1992. Our clients describe us as "patient, kind, and compassionate". These are words we live by every day as we strive to give everyone who comes to us the best experience possible when arranging a funeral.
Over the years our team have built strong connections with local funeral celebrants, religious leaders, and many places of worship. This means we can help support you in arranging the funeral that feels personal and right for you and your family. If you're not sure, we can help with inspiration and creative ways to remember them. We're also known for helping to arrange Humanist and Travelling community funerals, too.

View funeral notices and leave a tribute or donation in their memory
We work with four crematoriums, Sedgemoor, Taunton Deane, Weston-super-Mare and Mendip, and we will talk you through which might suit your family best depending on your wishes, the location of the service and practical considerations on the day. On the day itself, the funeral procession will travel from Bridgwater to whichever crematorium you have chosen, and our team will be with you throughout to make sure everything runs smoothly and your loved one is given a fitting farewell.
You can call us at any time, day or night, and we will arrange for your loved one to be collected with care and brought into our care from wherever they have died, whether that is at home, at Bridgwater Community Hospital or elsewhere in the area. From that first call, our team will guide you through every practical step, including registering the death at the local register office, so that nothing feels overwhelming during what is already an incredibly difficult time.
Yes, our funeral home on St John Street serves Cannington and many of the surrounding villages, including Chedzoy, Bawdrip, Woolavington, Puriton, Horsey, Pawlett, Wembdon, Goathurst and North Petherton. Wherever you are in the area, our team will come to you and make sure your family receives the same patient, compassionate care we have been giving to local families since 1992.
We have experience arranging funerals for families from the Travelling community, as well as Catholic, Church of England and Humanist services, and we understand that every family's traditions and wishes are different. Our team will take the time to listen carefully to what matters most to you, so that the service truly reflects your loved one's life and the values your family holds.
There is a paid car park close to our funeral home on St John Street, so families travelling in from villages such as Woolavington or North Petherton should be able to park without difficulty. Our premises are wheelchair accessible and we have an accessible toilet, so please do let us know if anyone in your family has any accessibility needs and we will do everything we can to make sure your visit is as comfortable as possible.
