We have on-site parking so you do not need to worry about finding a space nearby, and the building is fully wheelchair accessible, meaning everyone who needs to visit us can do so comfortably. We have been serving the Chester-le-Street community since 1970, and offering a welcoming, accessible space for families has always been central to the way we work.
Our Chester-le-Street funeral home is available around the clock, so you can call us at any time of the day or night, you will never be met with an answerphone when it matters most. Once you are ready, our team will come and bring your loved one into our care, and we will walk you through the paperwork and next steps at a pace that suits you, so nothing feels rushed or overwhelming.
Yes, our team at Chester-le-Street covers Pelton, Ouston, Grange Villa, Great Lumley, and the surrounding villages, so wherever you are in this part of County Durham, we are here for you. We will come to you when you need us, and our funeral home on Newcastle Road is easy to reach from across the area should you wish to visit us in person.
We have longstanding relationships with St Mary and St Cuthbert's Parish Church and Chester-le-Street Methodist Church, and we are very happy to work with ministers or celebrants from either to create a service that reflects your family's faith. Equally, if you would prefer a secular or humanist ceremony, our team can arrange a celebrant-led service that honours the life of the person who died without any religious element.
We work closely with Birtley Crematorium, Durham Crematorium, and Mountsett Crematorium, and our team will help you choose whichever feels right for your family. On the day itself, we take care of everything, from bringing your loved one into the crematorium with dignity to guiding your family through the service, so that you can focus entirely on being together and saying goodbye in the way that feels most meaningful.
