Yes, our Great Tey funeral home serves families across Coggeshall and the surrounding villages, including Earls Colne, Tiptree, and the wider Colchester area. Whether you are close by or a little further afield across the Three Counties, our team will come to you and guide your family through every step at whatever pace you need.
Our funeral home sits within the Teybrook Centre on Brook Road, a small business park that has plenty of free parking available for families visiting us. We ask only that you avoid the courtyard directly by reception, as that space needs to stay clear — everywhere else on the site is fine to use. The arrangement room is on the ground floor and the building is fully wheelchair accessible, with an accessible toilet on site, so we are set up to welcome everyone comfortably.
Absolutely every family is different, and we are experienced in arranging non-religious, humanist, and secular funerals for families across Great Tey, West Colchester, and South Colchester. We can help you find a celebrant who will work with your family to create a service that feels personal and true to the person who died, whether that takes place at a local venue or elsewhere in the area.
Our team at Great Tey is available around the clock, so you can call us at any hour and we will listen, take things at your pace, and arrange to bring your loved one into our care when the time feels right for your family. Once they are with us at our Brook Road funeral home, there is no rush — we will talk you through the paperwork, including registering the death at Colchester Register Office, and make sure you understand each step before you take it.
A cremation service typically begins with a procession into the chapel, where family and friends gather to mark your loved one's life through music, readings, or personal tributes before a committal takes place. The service usually lasts around 30 to 45 minutes, and our team will talk you through the timing and what to expect well in advance so nothing feels unexpected. After the service, we handle all the practical arrangements, and we can discuss with you how and where you would like the ashes returned, whether that is at our Great Tey funeral home or another meaningful location.
