Yes, our team on Middle Street is very much here for families in Shotley Bridge, as well as Consett, Delves Lane and the surrounding villages. Wherever you are in the area, we can come to you and guide your family through every step of the arrangements. Please do get in touch with us at any time.
You do not need to have everything figured out straight away — our team on Middle Street is available to talk whenever you feel ready, day or night. One of the most important early steps is registering the death, which in Consett is done at the local register office, and we can walk you through exactly what that involves and what paperwork you will need. We can also arrange to bring your loved one into our care as soon as it is needed, so please do not hesitate to call us.
We have a great deal of experience working with the local churches in and around Consett, including St Patrick's RC Church and Our Blessed Lady Immaculate, so a Catholic funeral is something we arrange regularly. We also work with Christ Church, Consett Methodist, and Our Lady and Saint Joseph, and we are equally comfortable arranging entirely non-religious services. Whatever your family's faith, tradition, or preference, our team will make sure the funeral truly honours the person who has died.
Our funeral home is on Middle Street in Consett town centre, which is straightforward to reach whether you are travelling from Delves Lane, Shotley Bridge, or further afield. There is free street parking nearby, as well as a free car park within easy reach — parking is free for up to three hours, which is more than enough time for an arrangement meeting. Our ground floor arrangement room is fully wheelchair accessible, and we also have an accessible toilet, so please let us know if there is anything we can do to make your visit more comfortable.
We work with Mountsett Crematorium for cremation services, and our team will explain exactly what to expect well before the day arrives. On the day itself, we take care of everything from the moment we leave Consett, accompanying your family and ensuring the service reflects the person who has died. We can also help you think through meaningful ways to personalise the ceremony at Mountsett, whether that is a particular piece of music, a reading, or a moment of reflection.
