Yes, our team works closely with local churches including St Peter's and St Edward's, and we can arrange for the service to be held there if that is what your family wishes. Whether your loved one had a lifelong faith or you simply feel a church setting is right for them, we will liaise with the clergy and coordinate everything so you do not have to. We are experienced in supporting families with a range of beliefs and traditions, and our role is to make sure the service truly reflects the person who died.
There is a free car park nearby on Duckworth Street, which makes things a little easier when you are coming in to make arrangements or visit your loved one in our chapel of rest. Our funeral home is fully wheelchair accessible with a ground floor arrangement room and an accessible toilet, so every member of your family can be present without difficulty. We want your time with us to feel as comfortable and unhurried as possible, and our team will always be ready to welcome you at the door.
Not at all — our team on Duckworth Street regularly supports families from Hoddlesden, as well as from Sunnyhurst, Whitehall, Bold Venture and the surrounding villages. We cover the whole of the Darwen area, so wherever you are, please do get in touch and we will be glad to help you through this time.
We are available to take your call at any time, and one of the most important things we can do early on is arrange for your loved one to be brought into our care, which can happen at any hour of the day or night. From our funeral home on Duckworth Street, we will then guide you through the practical steps — including what paperwork is needed and when — so you are never left wondering what comes next. There is no pressure to make every decision immediately; our team will move at a pace that feels right for your family.
On the day, our team will bring your loved one to the crematorium in a dignified procession, and we will be with your family every step of the way to make sure everything runs as you have planned. You will have time to gather, to share words or music that meant something to the person who died, and to say a proper farewell before the committal. We are happy to help you think through the details in advance at our arrangement room on Duckworth Street, so nothing feels rushed or uncertain on the day itself.
