Co-op Funeralcare, Ivybridge
Ermedale Chapel, Fore Street, Ivybridge, PL21 9AB
Our funeral home in Ivybridge has been serving the local community since 1989. During that time, we've come to know and love our local area well. We cover areas in and around Ivybridge, including South Brent and Kingsbridge. We're here to give you a friendly, reliable and sensitively planned funeral service at your time of need.
Our team are good listeners, and that's the first thing we will do when we talk with you. That way we can help you arrange the funeral that feels right. We work with two crematoriums, The Park in Plymouth and Torbay Crematorium, and we will help you decide which feels right for your family based on location, capacity and the kind of farewell you have in mind. On the day, our team will guide the procession from Ivybridge and be with you throughout, so you are never left wondering what happens next. We take care of all the practical coordination so your family can focus on saying goodbye.
Yes, our team covers South Brent as well as Ivybridge and the surrounding villages, so we are here for your family wherever you are in the area. We can arrange a funeral at St Petroc's Church in South Brent if that is meaningful to you, or help you plan a service at another location of your choosing. Just call us and we will talk through everything at a pace that suits you.
We have one on-site parking space at our funeral home on Fore Street, and there is also street parking nearby as well as a paid car park a short distance away, though it is worth noting that parking on the main street itself can be restricted at times. Our arrangement room is on the ground floor and the building is fully wheelchair accessible, with an accessible toilet available, so everyone in your family can attend comfortably. If you have any concerns about access before your visit, please do call ahead and we will do our best to make things as easy as possible.
Absolutely, we arrange all kinds of services, whether that is a traditional religious funeral, a fully secular celebration of life, or something in between that reflects who the person who died truly was. We work with celebrants and officiants across the area and can help you find the right person to lead a service that feels personal and fitting. Whether you have a clear idea of what you want or need some gentle guidance, our team will support you through every decision.
When you are ready, call us and we will talk you through everything calmly and without rushing you. Our team can arrange to bring your loved one into our care from their home, a hospital or a care setting in Ivybridge or the wider area, and we are available around the clock so you never have to wait until morning. The paperwork and practical steps can feel overwhelming, but we handle the registration guidance and documentation alongside you so nothing is missed.
