We are very close to Garthdee and our team at Wm Gilchrist on Kaimhill Road regularly supports families from across the area. We also cover Kaimhill, Kincorth, and Cults, so wherever you are in this part of Aberdeen, we are here for you. Please do not hesitate to get in touch and we will talk you through everything at whatever pace suits your family.
We know the first hours after someone you love has died can feel completely overwhelming, and our team at Wm Gilchrist on Kaimhill Road is available to take your call and guide you gently through what needs to happen. We can arrange for your father to be brought into our care whenever you are ready, and there is no pressure to make any further decisions straight away. When you feel ready to sit down with us, we have a comfortable ground-floor arrangement room here where we can go through everything together, including the paperwork, at your own pace.
At Wm Gilchrist we have been caring for families of all backgrounds since 1939, and we are experienced in arranging funerals that honour a wide range of faiths, beliefs, and cultural traditions. Whether your family would like a religious service, a secular ceremony, or something that blends both, our team will listen carefully and build the day around what matters most to you. We can also help you find an appropriate venue or officiant if you have something particular in mind.
We work with Aberdeen Crematorium and Baldarroch Crematorium, and our team will explain the differences between the two so your family can choose what feels right. On the day itself, we handle all the arrangements and accompany your loved one, ensuring everything runs smoothly so you can focus on being together. Our team will walk you through exactly what to expect at whichever crematorium you choose, from arrival to the committal.
We have twelve on-site parking spaces at our Kaimhill Road funeral home, including designated disabled parking, so you should have no difficulty arriving by car. The building is fully accessible at ground level, with a ground-floor arrangement room and an accessible toilet, meaning family members with mobility difficulties can join us comfortably without navigating any stairs. If you are travelling from further afield — perhaps from Cults or Kincorth — and you have any concerns about access, please call us in advance and we will make sure everything is ready for your visit.
