Yes, our Leigh-on-Sea funeral home on Glendale Gardens is well placed to serve families across Chalkwell, Westcliff-on-Sea, Benfleet, and the wider Southend-on-Sea area. Our team has been caring for local families since 1978, so we know this stretch of the Essex coast well and are here to help wherever you are based.
We regularly work with local churches including St Helen's Catholic Church and Leigh Wesley Methodist Church, and our team is experienced in coordinating services that follow specific religious customs and traditions. Whether your family needs a full Catholic Requiem Mass or a more informal service at Leigh Road Baptist Church, we'll liaise directly with the clergy on your behalf to ensure everything is arranged with care and respect.
You can call us at any time — day or night — and our team will come to bring your loved one into our care from wherever they have died, whether that's a home near Leigh Broadway, a local hospital, or a care setting. Once your loved one is with us in our chapel of rest on Glendale Gardens, there is no immediate pressure on your family to make every decision at once. We'll arrange a time for you to come in and talk through the arrangements at a pace that feels right for you.
We have two on-site parking spaces at our Glendale Gardens funeral home, and additional street parking is available a short walk away on Leigh Broadway. We want to be open with families that our arrangement room is not currently on the ground floor and the building does not have full wheelchair access, so please do call us ahead of your visit and we will do everything we can to make suitable arrangements for you. We do have an accessible toilet on site, and our team is always happy to discuss how we can best accommodate your needs.
On the day of a cremation service, our team will bring your loved one to the chosen venue — such as Leigh Road Baptist Church or another local place of worship or ceremony space — before the committal takes place at the crematorium. We'll guide your family through every stage of the day, from the order of service to music choices, so that the occasion reflects the person who died. Timings vary depending on the venue and crematorium, but we'll make sure you know exactly what to expect well in advance.
