We work with Charnock Richard, West Lancashire, Preston, and Pleasington crematoriums, so your family has a genuine choice about where the service is held. On the day itself, our team will guide you through every moment, from the time we leave Dunkirk Lane together to the committal itself, ensuring the occasion truly reflects the person who died. We take care of all the coordination with the crematorium so you can focus entirely on being present with those you love.
Our team at Bretherton McKenna is available to take your call at any time, day or night, and we can arrange to bring your loved one into our care from wherever they have died, whether that is at home, in hospital, or in a care setting near Leyland. Once they are with us, there is no pressure to make every decision immediately, we will talk you through the paperwork, including the death certificate and registration process, at a pace that feels right for your family. You do not need to have all the answers straightaway; we are here to help you find them.
Bretherton McKenna has been serving families from our home on Dunkirk Lane since 1920, and over that time we have worked hard to make sure the space feels calm, dignified, and welcoming. We have a chapel of rest where families can spend private time with the person who died, and we have on-site parking so you never have to worry about where to leave the car. The funeral home is also fully wheelchair accessible, so everyone in your family can visit and feel comfortable during what is already a difficult time.
We have longstanding relationships with local churches including St Mary's RC, St Andrew's C of E, St James C of E, and St Ambrose C of E, and we are experienced in working alongside clergy and faith communities in Leyland and the surrounding area. Whether your family's needs are rooted in a specific religious tradition, a humanist outlook, or something entirely personal, we will listen carefully and build a service around what matters to you. Our role is simply to make sure the funeral is a true and honest reflection of the person who died.
Our team at Bretherton McKenna on Dunkirk Lane is here for families across Croston, and we cover the surrounding villages and towns including Bretherton, Longton, Tarleton, and Bamber Bridge. No matter where you are in the area, we will come to you and make sure your family is supported from the very first call. Distance is never a barrier to the care we provide.
