Yes, our team covers Cromford and the surrounding villages, so you won't need to travel far or look elsewhere for support. We also serve Darley Dale, Wirksworth, Amber Valley, and across to Chesterfield and District, meaning families throughout the region can come to us. Whatever your location, we'll come to you.
We regularly work with local clergy and have arranged services at St Helen's Church in Darley Dale, as well as Our Lady and St Joseph Catholic Church and St Mary's Church, so we're well placed to help whatever your family's faith. Our team will liaise directly with the minister or priest on your behalf, handling the practical coordination so your family can focus on coming together. If you have a particular church or officiant in mind, just let us know and we'll do our best to accommodate your wishes.
There is street parking directly outside our funeral home on Firs Parade, with one hour free, which is usually enough time for an initial arrangement meeting, and there are payable car parks nearby if you need longer. The building is fully accessible at ground floor level, with a ground floor arrangement room, wheelchair access, and an accessible toilet, so everyone in your family is welcome without difficulty. If you have any specific access needs before visiting us, please do give us a call and we'll make sure everything is ready for you.
When someone has died, it can feel overwhelming to know where to start, and you don't have to have everything figured out before you call us. Our team at Firs Parade is available to talk through your situation, answer your questions, and arrange for your loved one to be brought into our care — whether that's during the day or out of hours. Once your loved one is with us, we can take the time to sit down together and guide you through each step, including any paperwork, at a pace that suits you.
On the day of a cremation service, we'll guide your family through every moment so nothing feels unfamiliar or rushed. We'll bring your loved one to the crematorium and ensure the service reflects exactly what your family wants — whether that's a short, simple farewell or a longer ceremony with music, readings, and time for those attending to gather. Our team will be present throughout to support you, and we'll talk everything through with you well in advance during your arrangement meeting at our funeral home on Firs Parade.
