View funeral notices and leave a tribute or donation in their memory
Every funeral we arrange is shaped around the person who has died and what mattered to them, whether that means a traditional religious service, a secular ceremony, or something in between. Our team has been helping families in Milngavie and the surrounding area since 1980, so we have a great deal of experience working with different faiths, celebrants, and personal wishes. We will listen carefully and make sure the service feels right for your family.
On the day of a cremation, our team will bring your loved one's coffin to the service venue — we have our own on-site space here on Crossveggate that can seat up to 60 people — before accompanying the procession to the crematorium. The service itself typically lasts around 20 to 30 minutes and can include music, readings, and tributes chosen by your family. Afterwards, we will guide you through the next steps, including the return of ashes, and make sure nothing feels rushed or unclear.
Yes, our team at Wylie & Lochhead serves families across a wide area, including Strathblane, Milngavie, Bearsden, Bishopbriggs, and Clydebank. Whether you are close to home or a little further afield, we will come to you and make sure your family is supported every step of the way.
You do not need to have everything figured out before you call us — our team is here to guide you gently through those first difficult hours and days. We can arrange to collect your father and bring him into our care here at Crossveggate, and once he is with us, you can visit him in our chapel of rest whenever you feel ready. There is no rush to make every decision at once, and we will explain the paperwork and registration process step by step so nothing feels overwhelming.
We have two on-site parking spaces at the front of the funeral home, and there is also street parking available nearby along Crossveggate. If those spaces are taken, the train station a short distance away has metered parking which families have found useful. Please do bear in mind that our premises are on the ground floor and have an accessible toilet, though we are not currently set up with full wheelchair access — if you have any concerns about this, do give us a call and we will do our best to help.
