Absolutely every funeral we arrange at our Mapperley funeral home on Plains Road is shaped around what matters to your family, whether that means a traditional service, a fully secular celebration of life, or something in between. We take the time to understand who your loved one was and what would feel most meaningful, so the day truly reflects them.
We work with both Gedling Crematorium and Wilford Hill Crematorium, and our team will help you choose whichever feels right for your family's needs and location. On the day itself, we take care of all the arrangements so you can focus entirely on being present — our funeral directors will accompany your loved one and ensure everything runs with care and dignity, from the moment you gather to the final farewell.
Yes, our team on Plains Road regularly supports families across Arnold, as well as in Carlton, Gedling, Woodthorpe, and the surrounding area. Wherever you are in the local community, we can come to you and guide you through every step of the process at whatever pace feels right for your family.
You can call us at any time, day or night, and we will answer — there is no need to wait until morning or until you feel ready to have every answer, because our team is here to take things one step at a time with you. Once we speak, we can arrange for your father to be brought into our care, and we'll talk you through any paperwork and next steps at a pace that feels manageable, including liaising with Gedling registration services if that would help.
There is free parking at Bonnington Road car park for up to two hours, and a further car park behind the Co-op Food store which is also free for a set period, so you should not need to worry about where to leave your car when visiting us. Our funeral home is fully accessible at ground level, with a wheelchair-accessible entrance, a ground floor arrangement room, and an accessible toilet, so every member of your family is able to be with you when you come to make arrangements.
