Co-op Funeralcare, Potters Bar
100 Darkes Lane, Potters Bar, EN6 1AE
We're a well‑established funeral home in Potters Bar, and proudly part of Co‑op Funeralcare since 2008. We're dedicated to giving you and your family the care and support you need when arranging a funeral, whether you live in Goffs Oak, Northaw, South Mimms or Welham Green. We're here to help.
We will be led by you in making the funeral arrangements. We will listen as you tell us about who they were and what feels right for them. Then we will use our established relationships with local places of worship and crematoriums in the area, like Our Lady and St Vincent and St Mary the Virgin and All Saints to create the funeral that feels right.
A funeral arrangement meeting with us is a conversation over a cup of tea as we decide and arrange things together. When you need us, call us or come and see us on Darkes Lane.

Yes, our team on Darkes Lane regularly supports families from Brookmans Park, as well as Goffs Oak, Northaw, South Mimms, Welham Green, and further afield into Enfield and West Herts. Distance is never a barrier, and we will come to you wherever you are. If you are unsure whether we cover your area, please do give us a call and we will be happy to help.
Whenever you are ready to reach out, our team on Darkes Lane is here to guide you through every step, starting with bringing your father into our care so your family has some breathing space. We can help you understand what paperwork is needed, including the medical certificate and death registration, and we will walk alongside you at whatever pace feels right. You do not need to have everything figured out before you call us — just getting in touch is enough to begin.
Yes, we work closely with local churches including Our Lady and St Vincent and St Mary the Virgin and All Saints, and we are experienced in arranging both religious and non-religious services across the area. Whether your family follows a particular faith tradition or would prefer a more personal, secular farewell, our team on Darkes Lane will support you in creating a service that reflects your loved one's life. We are always happy to liaise directly with clergy or celebrants on your behalf.
Parking is available close by, and one of the easiest options is the Sainsbury's on Station Close, which offers free parking for up to 90 minutes — more than enough time for most appointments — or you can pay to stay longer if needed. There is also pay and display street parking on Darkes Lane itself, though spaces can be limited. Our arrangement room is on the ground floor and fully wheelchair accessible, with an accessible toilet on site, so the whole space is easy to navigate for everyone in your family.
A cremation service typically begins with a gathering at the crematorium, where family and friends come together to share memories and say goodbye — the service itself usually lasts around 20 to 30 minutes, though we can discuss timing and structure with you in detail when we meet at our arrangement room on Darkes Lane. From the music and readings to who speaks and how the coffin is received, every element can be shaped around what feels right for your family. Afterwards, many families choose to hold a gathering at a local venue, and our team can help you think through those arrangements too.
