View funeral notices and leave a tribute or donation in their memory
On the day of a cremation, our team will lead the cortège from a point agreed with your family, often gathering near a meaningful local spot such as St Joseph's before travelling together to the crematorium. The service itself typically lasts around 20 to 30 minutes and can include music, readings, prayers, or simply quiet reflection — entirely shaped around what your loved one would have wanted. Afterwards, we'll talk you through next steps, including the return of ashes and any memorial options you may be considering.
We have been arranging Catholic funerals in Preston since 1980, and our team has long-standing relationships with St Joseph's and The Blessed Sacrament, so we understand the rituals, timings, and traditions that matter deeply to Catholic families. We also have genuine experience working with the Travelling community, and we approach every family's customs with care and respect, making sure the funeral reflects the way your community honours those who have died.
Please call us as soon as you feel ready, any time of day or night, and our team will come to wherever your father has died and bring him into our care on Meadow Street in Preston. You don't need to have any decisions made before you ring us — we will handle the immediate practicalities, including liaising with the doctor or coroner over the necessary paperwork, so your family can focus on being together.
We have four on-site parking spaces at our Meadow Street funeral home, and there is also some street parking available nearby if those spaces are taken. Our arrangement room is on the ground floor, which means there are no stairs involved in reaching us, though please be aware that we do not currently have wheelchair-accessible facilities or an accessible toilet — if mobility is a concern for anyone in your family, do mention it when you call and we will do everything we can to help you feel comfortable.
Yes, our team at McKenna on Meadow Street regularly supports families across Bamber Bridge, as well as Preston, Walton-le-Dale, Fulwood, and Charnock Richard. Wherever you are in the surrounding area, we can come to you and guide your family through every step at whatever pace feels right.
